Coker Tire & Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Rod Run

This year was no different than in years past as Coker Tire and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve team up to help others. It doesn’t take much of an excuse to get the ol’ hot rod, classic truck, or muscle car out of the barn and join up with other hot rodders. And such is the case year after year as Coker Tire in Chattanooga, Tennessee, hosts their holiday season drive with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots to gather up plenty of good cheer that will make many a kids Christmas that much better.

To partake in the day’s festivities you need do no more than make a cash donation to the cause or pick up a toy or two on the way to “Cokerville” and be ready to handoff to the U.S. Marines on duty.

The one-day gathering starts at 8 in the morning, the perfect time for many a rodder to roll out of bed, uncover the hot rod, and drive on over just in time to donate the toys for tots and grab yourself some coffee and donuts complimentary of Coker Tire. Of course, it’s November and this is the time of the year when it’s a good idea to breakout the jackets especially if you cruise up in a roadster. It’s darn cold!

As is always the case there were plenty of early hot rods, muscle cars, and customs parked around Honest Charley’s Speed Shop and other Coker Tire buildings. Aside from donating toys for tots there are also the event T-shirts which represent the Toys for Tots Cruise-in apparel. The business of selling “T’s” was brisk, to match the weather, and all of the proceeds go to support the cause. All very worthwhile.
